 Environmental Installation and Stop Motion Film

​​[Kitchen Story] 2014  is a project dealing with memory, space and the meaning of objects with memory.
These works aim to transform the memory and objects which give weight to a person's life to another forms and in another time; it comments on the transformation of memory through time and space in life.

About [ Kitchen Story ]

There were two side projects developed to coincide with major project Morning Archive (Kitchen Story and The Doors. ); both were based on the main concept of [ Morning Archive]  though each had a different focus.

Nostalgia and the influence of memory were explored in the Kitchen Story Project. Through taking photos of family meals and objects linked to my memories of childhood, lost family members and loved ones, Kitchen Story allowed me to exorcise those haunted memories through confronting them. I wished to give these memories a space, to become separated from me so I could move on to another phase in my creative practice.​  --- shizico yi
