The act of drawing is a very direct way to contour one's life and how she sees the world around her. Every line is a way to touch each fine grain of a thing. The drawing contours a person's life and memory, like people do throughout one's life.
Constant Gardener is an on-going project in memory of Favor, her late dog. In 2015, Shizico started gardening to make a garden for Favor to recover. After Favor died, this garden project continued as Favor Memorial Garden in memory of his precious presence.
Alongside gardening, Shizico started a series of drawings and plain air paintings in this Memorial Garden, trying to keep the blooms and seasons frozen in time.
